Abstract

This study the role of the media in the management of environmental health issues in makurdi Benue state, was designed to assess the role of the media in management of environmental health issues in Benue state. Relevant literature were reviewed on Solid Waste, Public Health, Attitude Change and Media. The survey research design was adopted with questionnaire used as data collection instrument. Result from the finding shows that the media has increase knowledge and change perception of respondents about indiscriminate disposal waste and environmental health issues. The study concludes that the media has played a very important role in the management of environmental health issues in Makurdi metropolis. It was recommended among others that more publicity should be done by government to increase the level of seriousness of environmental health issues and keeping environmental clean.
