Abstract
The researchers, researched on the project titled the role of financial institution in an agricultural development (a case study of agricultural development Bank Enugu). In pursuance of this research, the researchers divided the work into five chapters, chapter one, dealt with the introduction of the study, background of the study etc. among the purposes includes. To identify the problems of agriculture and its finance in Nigeria. To access the role of financial institutions in assisting government to solve the problems that may be identified. To propose solution for some of the general problems of agriculture and measure to intensity the role of financial institutions in accelerating and balancing the development of Nigeria’s agriculture, through a modern and more enlightened agricultural policies/programmes. To achieve this, four research questions were propounded and out of each 11 questionnaires items were found. In sourcing data, primary and secondary sources were used. The researchers also made use of the findings from the work of others that are related to this study. The researchers use returned questionnaires of 50. The results were presented in tables with variables numbered percentage. Information collected was analyzed in single percentage. The research found out that the study of the role of financial institution in an agricultural development The research also recommended that government should intensify companies to aureate more land are under cultivation by directing organized bodies such as education institutions, voluntary organization, the army, prisons and any other willing body to cultivate stipulated area of land annually, also Nigeria farmers have generally companied about adequate and late delivery of farm inputs such as fertilizers, chemical for pest control etc. it is necessary that agricultural development programme (ADA) farmers co-operatives and private individuals be given free hands to procure and sell essential inputs. Such as approach would ensure timely availability of farm inputs and desired impact on crop fields.
