INTRODUCTION

The process of organizing the employees of a company into a labor union which will act as an intermediary between the employees and company management. In most cases it requires a majority vote of the employees to authorize a union. If a union is established the company is said to be unionized.

A labour union is an association of workers, which consist of representatives that mediate between the workers and their employer in order to avoid any unfair treatment that could be meted on them by the employers and to conversely ensure commitment to work by its members in a way that, it will result in high level of productivity and organization efficiency in general (Tokubvo 1985).
