THE IMPACT OF SUPERVISION ON EFFECTIVE BANK MANAGEMENT (A CASE STUDY OF UBA PLC, 10 STATION RD ENUGU)

ABSTRACT  The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of supervision on effective bank management with reference to UBA  Plc main branch Enugu. To guide this study four research questions and four hypothesis were formulated. A review of literature was done to ensure solid conclusion for the study. A structured questionnaires  was developed  and administered  by the researcher to forty- three respondents made up of thirty-two senior staff and eleven junior staff of UAB main branch A liker type four point scale was used in determining positive (2.50 and above) and negative 2.49 and below responses mean and standard deviation were used in analyzing research question while t-test statistics was used to test hypotheses therein. Based on the above some of the major findings include: That there is adequate human and non human resources for effective operation in UBA. That there is occurrence of bad debt due to unrecoverable loans and other malpractices. That frequent retrenchment and rationalization of staff affect the operation  and performance of the bank. That poor treasury management and underutilization of audit techniques affect the operation of UBA.
