This paper attempts to discuss the role of the Social Studies teacher in the post modern world, a way out of insecurity in Nigeria. The reality of the post modern world is taking its toll on the school system as well as in other segment in Nigeria and else where around the world. The influence of post modernity in society requires an appropriate approach in learning in school subjects and teachers also need to be exposed to the need of preparing pupils to face the challenges impose by post modern thinking, to enable them to be able to survive the new evolving environment presented by post modern interactions, as characterized by insecurity in the Nigeria society.
