The prevalence of crime in the world today is a cause for serious concern for all and sundry.

It undermines the social fabric by eroding the sense of safety and security in the society

according to the nature and extent of crime committed. Specifically, the existence of crime in

any society constitute a problem when its incidence is as rampant in the society as to

constitute a threat to the society of persons and property, as well as social order and solidarity

(Anthony Adebayo, 2013). This study thus set out to examine the response of the police to

crime prevention and control in Ido Local Government Area of Ibadan.
