Studies have shown that there is a link between distributed practice and mind wandering. However, there is little knowledge that purports to the hypothesis that motivation of students might change the relationship between these two variables (distributed practice and mind wandering). Hence, self-determination theory will be used to assess the motivation in lessons that involve distributed practice so that the effectiveness of the learning technique to deter mind wandering can be measured in relation to motivation of students.
