Today, humanity can be classified as living in a “machine society” where technological tools are predominantly at different levels interfacing in the day–to-day activity of man. These livelihood activities constitute and deliver economic, social and political benefits and potential risks to the survivability of nations –especially developing nations like ours.

Energy meter has been classified as Electromechanical Energy Meters. It is regarded as the most traditional and widely used energy meter which works on electromechanical induction principle. The construction comprises three electrical circuits. The second type of energy meter is Digital Energy meter which is used to measure electricity with a digital energy meter. The third type of energy meter is Prepaid Energy meter which is done by using a removable part which can be loaded (and later reloaded) with a specified amount of energy by the utility. It uses an Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory (EEPROM) chip. In this meter the EEPROM chip is used for recharging the units to enable that the power usage.
