ABSTRACTThis project “COLLEGE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM” deals with the maintenance of all college information starting from the principal to the students.CMS is an automation system, which is used to store the departments, student, courses and other information of a college.
Starting from registration of a new student in the department, it maintains all the details regarding the courses offered, staff members, bursary etc. The project deals with retrieval of information through an INTRANET based campus wide portal. It collects related information from all the departments of an organization and maintains files, which are used to generate reports in various forms to measure individual and overall performance of the students and staff members.
Development process of the system starts with System analysis followed by system design and system implementation. System analysis is a problem technique that decomposes a system into its component pieces for the purpose of studying how well those component parts work and interact to accomplish their purpose. System analysis involves creating a formal model of the problem to be solved by understanding the requirements.
System design is the process of defining the architecture components, modules, interfaces, and data for a system to satisfy specified requirements. System design could be seen as the application of system theory to product development.System implementation is the construction of the new system and the delivery of that system into production i.e. the day-to-day activities or organization operation.
