Abstract
The oil of the medicinally important speciescorochorusolitorius was extracted by hexane and analyzed by GC-MS. The analysis revealed the presence of 22 components. The major components are: 9, 12- , hexadecanoic acid methyl .octadecadienoic acid (z,z)-,methyl ester 9, 12, 15-octadecatrien acid,2,3-dihydroxy ً.,methyl stearate .ester proply esterand eicosanoic acid, methyl ester. In cup plate ager diffusion bioassay corochorusolitorius oil showed excellent activity against Bacillus subtilis. It also exhibited significant activity against Candidaalbicans.
