ABSTRACT This project was on the effects of interest rate deregulation on the banks profitability. The need to control to banking activities cross because of fraud excessive competition which ever believe to be contrary to public interest in efficiency in the use of resources end lots of other defects  In chapter one of this study deal with the introduction, statement of the problem, purpose of study and also the significant of the study, scope of the study and limitation of the study   Chapter two of this work states the background of deregulation and profitability and highlight the function of deregulation it will further state the objectives of interest rate deregulation. It also states the sources interest deregulation and the lending rate structure of Africa international banks limited for five years. Chapter three of this study deals with the finding, recommendation and conclusion. This final chapter also brings us to the end of the study.
