This paper attempts to explicate one of the major trends in African literature, alienation. Using CHEIKH HAMIDOU KANE’S AMBIGUOUS ADVENTURE, it clearly foregrounds the idea that Africans experience of alienation and divided consciousness are as a result of their exposure to the culture of the occident.
