A SURVEY OF EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR SECRETARIES IN PARASTATALS IN ENUGU URBAN (A CASE STUDY OF NIGERIAN NATIONAL PETROLEUM CORPORATION (NNPC) ENUGU)

ABSTRACT
This write up is aimed at identifying the employment opportunities for secretaries in parastatals in Enugu urban. To achieve this other Minot objectives were equally pursued. These include identifying the employment opportunities available and the problems associated with them. To cover the trend of events on the scene, a review of related literature gathering data, structured and closed – ended questionnaire was designed, validated, reproduced and administered on a sample of 40 secretaries of Nigerian national petroleum corporation. These were duly completed and retrieved. Data derived thereof were presented in tables and analyzed by the use of weighted mean and rank order method. The major findings of the study showed that there is demand for the services of secretaries in parastatals in Enugu urban. In addition, computer helps to improve work of secretaries. The researcher recommend that parents, teachers, and other interested people should do secretarial studies as a course secretarial should go into the training computer. Qualified secretaries should seek employment in any parastatals in Enugu urban.
